kaveh
I want to back up all my files (20 gigaBytes) onto an ftp site. The first backup will take, I estimate, several days. Is it imperative that the backup procedure is uninterrupted during this period? Is there any way of backing these up incrementally? I know that I can divide these into smaller groups of files, but in some cases this is not easy. Any comments appreciated.
SimonHobson
Not used FTP as a destination myself, but I wouldn't expect any problems. If the first backup fails, next time it will scan source and destination, see that some of the files are there, and copy the rest. I suggest you try a small test first, select a subvolume to start with and interrupt the backup, then try again.
