chrisric
Hi Everyone, I have to manage 12 Retrospect servers, all with pretty much the same config. I have been fine tuning our selector on each box and was wondering if there is a better way to do it... Can I just change one box and then copy the Retro.Config file to all the other boxes? What other type of prefs are stored in this file? Thank you. -Chris
waltr
hi chris, license code, client database, volume database, scripts, etc-->this is just off the top of my head. i could imagine a situation where you used one Macintosh as a 'base' for the rest of your computers & kept a pristine Retro.Config file that had selectors and maybe some base scripts. you could then move it to the regular servers, change the license, and add the custom needs for each server (clients, scripts, etc). if you made a copy of this you would be set for disasters involving the Retro.Config file, and you would always have your base config to go back to if you needed to add a new server. chrisric
Hi Walt, Thanks for the info. and advise RE: base config Retro.Config file, sounds good. Hard to believe you can't export and import selectors... I am sure it's on the feature list though. Cheers. -Chris
