Retrospect 5.0 Driver Update (Mac), Version 2.7

Recommended Posts

RDU 2.7 has not improved my life.

Firstly, how about some documentation as to what devices have been changed? The RDU itself has no useful information, beyond referring to the Dantz web page of all currently supported drives. Now, that's really poor, since that information is updated dynamically, so effectively has Zero information about what is in RDU 2.7. What information I found was at Versiontracker.

So, I downloaded it anyway, since having the current RDU is a good idea, surely? Well, not for me. Previously, Retrospect reported my 2nd CD-R drive as 'unsupported' (despite being on the supported list, and working under Mac OS 9). Now, Retrospect quits when I look at device status. It draws the screen, with the drive shown (and NOT marked as incompatible), then silently exits!

Actually, not quite silently, as by searching I found that there is a crash log produced in LaunchCFMApp.crash.log, which looks like:
