dsnowdy
I had a "bad" tape. It had some backups on it before it went bad. Our support person erased the tape to reuse to make sure it was bad. It was. The tape is still listed as a member of the backup set. Is there a way to tell what files were on that tape? Also, for my larger archive I'm used to a proprietary backup system that would know if I deleted a tape and would know that the files were no longer in the archive. Does Retrospect work in that manner? Thanks Dave

Or is it an original/archive? If it is a backup, you could set the tape as "lost" in Retrospect and run a backup from the original. Retrospect will backup the files that was on the bad/lost tape. 1 hour ago, dsnowdy said: Also, for my larger archive I'm used to a proprietary backup system that would know if I deleted a tape and would know that the files were no longer in the archive.
