russ_kahan@yahoo.com
using Retrospect Pro 7.6.2, I'm getting an error -1127 when trying to do a Recycle backup of one external USB hard drive, to another USB hard drive. Previous full, incremental and recycle back ups of this source to this dest worked fine. Now, attempts all die/quit, saying "error-1127 data error detected in file using cyclic redundancy check" in the log. Error in which file? (Source or dest?) Suggestions about what I can do to have a recycle backup run successfully? thanks in advance, -R
Lennart_T
During which phase do you get the error? For instance at start? During matching? During file copy? When building snapshot?
russ_kahan@yahoo.com
Hi Lennart, thanks. Happens at startup, when host machine reads from source disk (I presume to compare files there with catalog) for about 7GB worth of files -- for 2-3 mins -- then quits. At that point it has not yet started copying nor finished copying and started comparing. Lennart_T
Then I guess there is a problem with the disk catalog on the source volume. Try running CHKDSK and see if that helps. http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/guide-to-using-check-disk-in-windows-vista/
