thisguycecil
Hello. We are currently running Retrospect Professional v7.6 in a Windows XP environment. Like many shops we obviously plan to migrate to a newer OS, Windows 7, in the near future. Nevertheless, as of today, XP is the environment where v7.6 is installed. I would like to upgrade to v9.5 on the primary computer while still in the XP environment. A few questions arise: 1. Does v9.5 run on XP? 2. How does one do the upgrade: Uninstall v7.6 first, or just overwrite with v9.5? 3. Would the backup clients need to be updated to a later version as well? 4. Should I even bother with an upgrade while using XP? Thanks in advance for your assistance. ------------ Regards, Cecil
Lennart_T
1. I don't know. See also 4 below. 2. Just install, the old version will be kept. 3. You don't have to, but I have done so. 4. Version 9.5 uses much more RAM (and more CPU), so I would not bother trying to run 9.5 on a 32-bit OS (speaking of experience).
