Retrospect 8.1/8.5 Daily Backup to 2 RDX drives issue

I'm having a small problem scheduling a daily backup so that the software backs up the system to an RDX Cartridge 1 day and to another RDX Cartridge the next.

The problem is that the daily backup schedule includes the weekends so, for example, if the first backup is on Wednesday we put in 'BackupSet1' on Thursday we put in 'BackupSet2' on Friday we put 'BackupSet1' back in now on Monday we want to put 'BackupSet2' back in...however the backup is looking for 'BackupSet1' due to scheduled backups at the weekend.

Hope that makes sense.

Ideally we would want the schedule to realise that weekends should be ignored or that it will backup to whichever RDX Cartridge that's in the device.

Any advice? If you need more information just ask.

Thanks for reading.

You have two options:

1) Run the backups as Proactive. Proactive backups use whichever media set (member) that is available.

2) Set up a script for each media set (cartridge). The scripts should have schedules something like this:

Every other week on Monday, starting on MAR 24 to Cartridge 1.

Every other week on Monday, starting on MAR 31 to Cartridge 2.

Every other week on Tuesday, starting on MAR 25 to Cartridge 2.

Every other week on Tuesday, starting on APR 1 to Cartridge 1.

Every other week on Wednesday, starting on MAR 26 to Cartridge 1.

Every other week on Wednesday, starting on APR 2 to Cartridge 2.

...and so on for Thursday and Friday.
