Change license keys

Recommended Posts

Hi,

We created a copy of our Mac OS X 10.6.8 server with carbon copy cloner to a different machine. All is running OK, but because of the 1-1 copying, the license code for Retrospect 10 is also copied to the new machine. I tried installing the new license code, but instead of replacing the current license it added the new Single Server with 20 clients to the existing license (also Single server / 20 clients).

Is there a way to remove the old license without uninstalling and reinstalling (and setting up all of the scripts and filters) Retrospect ?

I only see a button to add a license, not one to remove a license.

Well, you can do that without uninstall/install, but you still need to set up filters, scripts and everything else.

Open your hard drive ("Macintosh HD")

Open Library

Open Application Support

Open Retrospect

Drag Config80.bak and Config80.dat to the desktop.

Restart the Retrospect engine (or the computer it that's easier).

Start Retrospect and enter your license.

Thanks!

It wasn't as much work as I thought it would be to recreate the scripts, fiters and settings (after I made screendumps of the old settings).

Still you would expect a remove license button, if you can add multiple licenses to the same instance.

Thanks again!

Alexander.
