mattd42
I have a license for retrospect 6 but my files that I am trying to restore were made with either Retrospect 4 or 5. My system that I've set up is working fine. Recognizing the tape drive and moving the tape around. It sees the backup sets and reads those fine. The problem is that when I try to restore something from tape I get a 109 (unexpected filemark or FTP end of file) message. My System: OSX 10.4.11 867MHz PowerPC G4 2MB L3 cashe 1.5GB SDRAM ATTO ExpressPCI UL3D Quantum DLT 8000 Retrospect 6.1.230 RDU 6.1.16.100 I have also tried rebuilding the set from the tape. This seems to work until I try to restore. Then It tells me that there are no snapshots available. I would think that being a data archival program, Retrospect would be somewhat backwards compatible. Thanks, Matt
Lennart_T
Not sure about ability to read version 4, but version 5 should work just fine. Many problems comes from old drivers and/or old firmware. Please check your SCSI card and its software. What do you restore to? Internal drive, external drive, network drive? File system?
