utig
over the last few months, when I create a new catalog in RS 7.7.620 on my catalog ssd, it says that d:\ is a malformed name. If I then go back and put it anyplace else, the create succeeds. I then cut and paste from anyplace else to d: and RS is happy ever after. I think this started back when I was still using a 15k rpm disk for d:, but I can't swear that's true. d: is a 256G ssd less than half full. Windows server 2008. chkdsk d: is fine. Once created, there are no issues with catalog files. Any ideas at all welcome. Mark W.
Lennart_T
Is the firmware on the SSD fully updated? Try this: Launch Notepad (for instance). Create a new document and type a few characters (so it's not empty). Save the document on D: giving it the same name you would a catalog file, including the file name extension. Does that work? utig
both c: and d: are recent crucial m4 256G's with updates, but not the most recent. creating a .rbc file of similar name works fine from Notepad. If retrospect creates a new catalog file elsewhere, and it is then moved to the ssd, it works fine. And once created, none of the 20 or so catalogs have any unusual issues.
