Hi we have just installed sbs v8

on backing up mailboxes on sbs2011 we get the following error

File "USER\Inbox\0000000080cef62e9623094cb9e700c09ee90917070067b6aa3588186b4ba47f001f907f3592000000c6a83b000067b6aa3588186b4ba47f001f907f359200000fbb332d0000": can't read, error -3405 ( unknown)

errors not only related to inbox but always error -3405

also we run a server script on c:\ drive sbs2011 and get the following errors

File "C:\inetpub\temp\appPools\APC1871.tmp": can't read, error -1101 ( file/directory not found)

File "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\TransportRoles\data\IpFilter\trn.log": can't read, error -1020 ( sharing violation)

a few examples I think this could be related to open files but whats the point if you have to spend another £500 for the open file plugin!!

Cheers

Mark

-3405 I think relates to deleted (or maybe disabled) Exchange mailboxes.

The attached log doesn't contain any -3405 errors. Where do you see them?

The "Sharing violation" errors seems to involve MS SQL or Exchange files. Have you set up the Exchange agent and the MS SQL agent correctly?

sorry the -3405 logs file is too big

example

File "Alicia Gustave\Inbox\0000000080cef62e9623094cb9e700c09ee90917070067b6aa3588186b4ba47f001f907f3592000000c6a83b000067b6aa3588186b4ba47f001f907f359200000fbb332d0000": can't read, error -3405 ( unknown)

these a random but it stops the whole mailbox getting backed up.but it has backed up some mailboxes fine with no errors

You don't install the exchange agent for sbs2011? maybe you do?
