FrankSyred
At present I cannot see my Tape Drive (Dell 110T Powevault LTO2). In the Storage Devices window Environment Tab there are 3 IDs whch are "Ignored". One of these is my Tape Drive (ID 0:6:0). I have Right Clicked and selected Don't Ignore ID. When I refresh or do a Device Scan these items remain greyed out and still say that they are "Ignored". I am running 7.7.620 The tape drive was previously visible but appeared to freeze when requesteing a new tape. When I did a device scan it was not present. In windows Device Manager the Tapedrive is there and "Working properly". I have an older PC with a previous version of Retrospect. When I plug the tape drive into this PC it works perfectly. Any ideas on how to resolve this?
Lennart_T
In windows Device Manager the Tapedrive is there and "Working properly". That is your problem: Windows won't let Retrospect own the tape drive.Disable the tape drive in The Windows Device Manager. If you have a tape library it is listed under "Medium Changers" and should be disabled, too.

Lennart_T
Did you restart the engine?
FrankSyred
I tried just closing and restarting Retrospect and I also tried stoping and restarting the Retrospect Client and Retrospect Launcher sevices in Windows. Both have no effect.

FrankSyred
I am not sure what you mean by restarting the engine. I have rebooted the PC and have the Retrospect windo open. I checked that the tape drive is still disabled to. However the Storage Devices window Environment Tab rescand still does not work. Thanks again
FrankSyred
I contacted Retrospect Support who suggested that I mark devises an Dont Ignore. Then close the Window. Then exit and relaunch Retrospect and check again. After this my tape drive works again.
