kermit
I'm running Retrospect 8.2.0 (399) on our Mac OS X server 10.5.8. After months of uninterrupted, trouble free service I've suddenly received the following error message: "Can't access volume XXXX on XXXX, error -518 ( not enough backup client memory)" The client in question is otherwise idle when the backup runs (at about midnight) and it has 4GB of on-board RAM anyway, as well as 116GB of a 250GB hdd free. I've checked the link between the client and the console and they appear to be able to communicate okay. I'll keep an eye out for the problem on tonight's run but does anyone have any ideas how to resolve this? Thanks

How much of it the is currently available is much more relevant. Just a simple restart of the Mac cleans up RAM (among other things). If that doesn't help, repair the client hard drive.
