mlts22
Does Retrospect support the WORM functionality in Iomega's REV drive, assuming the REV cartridge is formatted for this, using "Make disk write-once" when formatting the disk? If so, this would be a great utility for archiving files, as it would be far more usable (for what I need) than stacks and stacks of DVD+R media, or spending thousands for a decent tape drive. Thanks very much in advance.
nekr0phage
Hi, Retrospect will not natively support WORM functionality on a REV drive. It does support WORM on any tape drives with this capability, but since a REV is just a small hard disk Retrospect will treat it like any other hard disk drive. If the WORM option is dependant on only the Iomega software, it may be possible to set this in the formatting and then back up to it. Not having a REV drive on hand, I couldn't say for sure. mlts22
Thanks for the help. The REV's drive WORM functionality is for the most part not documented anywhere, except for 2-3 lines in the online manual on formatting cartridges for it.
