guerrero27 Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 As soon as I sensed problems with my hard drive, I went out and purchased a Maxtor One Touch drive. I backed up the drive completely prior to sending the computer off for repair. Sony had to replace my old hard drive, and they were able to transfer some of what was on the former drive. The problem is that there are still some files on the Maxtor drive that I want to restore. When I go through the restore procedure and select these files, and then try to open them in their restore point folders on my desktop, I receive a message that says "Access Denied." So restoring these files is worthless unless I can access them. Has this happened to anyone else out there? Any ideas? Thanks in advance. It is frustrating to know the stuff is on the Maxtor drive but I can't access it.
waltr Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 you should take ownership of the restored files.
guerrero27 Posted July 6, 2006 Author Report Posted July 6, 2006 Thanks a ton, that was the answer. It worked.
waltr Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 no problem. it's acutally a common issue on this forum.
