smsialan
I'm using the Windows server version 7.5 and I'm trying to backup several Mac OS Xservers and a new iMac. I'm only getting about 4GB per hour. When backing up a local machine Retrospect does 20+GB per hour. I'm using an HP StorageWorks Ultrium 448 LTO2 tape drive. So my questions can I get better performance? As I have 200+GB of data on these machines. Using another product (Backup Exec) and Windows clients I get 15-20GB hours. But, its Mac client blows so I've turned to Retrospect. Thanks a bunch, Alan
nekr0phage
Hi Alan, What version of the client do you have installed on your Macs? Are you getting the same performance backing up Windows clients, or are you still using Backup Exec for that?
rkoek
Same here. Server 7.5 Multiserve. client 6.1.107. I just saw 6.1.130 i'll try and use that one. Will let you know.
rkoek
No, 6.1.130 doesn't do wonders. Its better (from 24 to 35Mb/min) but not what it should be.
nekr0phage
Hi Rogier, What performance do you get if you backup to a local disk backup set then transfer to tape?
