schickb
I purchased 7.0 partially for the data grooming feature for disk backup sets. But when I open one of my existing disk backup sets and select the options tab (as described by the help file), I see no data grooming options. Do I have to create new backup sets under 7.0 for this to work?
Mayoff
I believe you need to create a new backup set to get this option. You can do a Backup Set transfer from your old backup sets to the new one.
schickb
Arg, when I tried to create a new backup set it said that I can't use grooming with any form of encryption (of course that fact isn't mentioned in all of the press releases about the great new features). That makes grooming useless for me. But even when I created a new backup set without encryption just for testing, I still saw nothing under the options tab. Do the grooming options not show up until there is actual data in the dataset?
Mayoff
You must add data first, then you can change grooming settings in Configure>Backup Sets. This may help too: http://kb.dantz.com/article.asp?article=7941&p=
