timwindsor
As I looked at the huge stack of old Zip 100 and 250 Retrospect backups this morning, I wondered whether it would be possible to make disk images of them and store them all on one DVD for mounting as necessary. Keep in mind that these are complete archives - there is no current archiving occurring, so write-compatability is not an issue. The only reason I still keep a Zip drive around is to access these old backups. If I could eliminate one more piece of hardware, it would be worth the time to make the disk images. Anybody out there try this successfully?
natew
Hi The "transfer" function in Retrospect allows you to copy the contents of one backup set into another one. You could use this to the data from a Zip set to a CD/DVD set. At that point you will be able to restore from the CD/DVD set as you would normally. Thanks Nate
