vskender
What do you do if you cannot recreate the catalog file? At first it wouldn’t find the catalogue file at all. Now it finds it but says that it is in use and it can’t recreate it. This was the output: 6/22/2010 10:02:53 PM: Grooming Backup Set Backup Set A-1... 6/22/2010 10:18:57 PM: Groomed zero KB from Backup Set Backup Set A-1. Daniels
First I would exit Retrospect and re-start Retrospect to make sure the catalog is no longer in use. After restarting I would then remove the backup set and use the re-catalog option to rebuild the catalog. It will ask you where you want to save the catalog and if you use the same name it will ask you to overwrite the existing. Say yes and let the catalog rebuilding procedure complete and once done add the backup set back into your scripts.
vskender
The problem is I'm unable to rebuild the catalog file. At first it was telling me it couldn't find it. Now it's telling me it's in use. Should I try exiting again and restarting the build?
Mayoff
What exact steps are you taking when you attempt the catalog rebuild?
vskender
Following the instructions just like the video tutorial.
Daniels
Before the re-build did you remove the backup set from Retrospect? It should automatically remove the backup set but apparently it has not so you will need to manually remove the backup set from Retrospect. After removing the backup set in Retrospect exit Retrospect and manually remove the file from the catalogs folder and then start the re-build again. vskender
Daniels, How do you remove a backup set? I don't see that option. I see a forget button.
Daniels
The Forget button removes the backup set from the database so Retrospect can not use it.
