poorman
I just installed the newly-released version 7.6. Clicking on "Mozy Backup" opens a web browser and attempts to navigate to emcinsigna2.dantz.com. This host name doesn't resolve (at least not through OpenDNS.) Is there something amiss in my installation, or do I perhaps just need to wait until this domain name finishes propagating through the DNS servers? -- Pete
Mayoff
Thanks. We will handle this ASAP.
poorman
Thanks for the quick reply. The full URL that it attempts is http://emcinsignia2.dantz.com/products/smb/retroforwin/mozy/. -- Pete
Mayoff
If you have mozy already installed, it will launch the mozy interface. If you don't have Mozy, it will take you to a Mozy webpage. Unfortunately it looks like the software may contain a bad URL. We have to investigate.
Mayoff
The software should point to the right page now.
androcles
how does it know that Mozy is installed? I have Mozy Pro up and running on an SBS server running 7.6, and when I click on the Mozy button, it just takes me to a web page asking for money. I can find no way of telling it that you're already getting lots of money from me!
Mayoff
It might be specific to the version of Mozy. Is this a 32 bit or 64 bit system? All the button does it launch the mozy user interface. It really doesn't add any new features you are missing out on. We will figure out what is going on though
Mayoff
Check out this registry entry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\mozy\ConfigApplication That key should have a text string pointing to the mozyconf.exe file, which typically is at: C:\program files\mozyhome\mozyconf.exe
androcles
sadly there is no such directory: inside mozypro there is cache, forced, network_auth, network_user, options, scheduling, state and userinfo, but no ConfigApplication
Mayoff
Are you selecting the Mozy item on the left and viewing the files in the right side of the screen? ConfigApplication is a single item on the right, not a folder on the left.
androcles
HI. Can I send you a screenshot? I definitely have MozyPro configured correctly in the registry, but the Mozy button takes me to the website to sign up.
Mayoff
sure, take a screenshot of the registry screen and post it in the forum. Your account should now allow attachments. I see you are in London...I thought that Mozy only offered data centers to US locations?
androcles
here is the attachment. As for not allowing services in London, I have several clients using Mozy with no problem.
androcles
what's happened to this question? That's 20 days without a reply
Mayoff
It looks like the button only looks for Mozy, not Mozy Pro. It is a bug we will fix later. All the button does it launch the mozy user interface. It really doesn't add any new features you are missing out on.
