D Bottoms
one of my clients cannot connect. I get the 530 code. I looked up the code and went theu the suggested possible problems. The client is on. But when I hit refresh it still shows client not connected. the client cannot be rebooted. Any suggestions?
Mayoff
Forget the client and try to add the client again. What happens if you add by IP address?
D Bottoms
I am new to Retrospect. I have tried to add it by ip and it still says not connected. I can ping the computer and it is on the network. What am I missing? Edited June 10, 2008 by Guest
Mayoff
Sounds like a firewall could be blocking port 497. Turn off your firewall and see what happens.
D Bottoms
I finally got what you were telling me about forgetting the client. Now the client is connected (thank you very Much) however I now have another problem. My media was full and so I formatted it and named it the same as it was before. But now it shows that it cannot access the volume because it is not configured correctly. I can't find in the manual how to configure the volume. How do I configure the media? Mayoff
Create a new destination backup set. Once you formatted the media, your old backup set could not find the data.
D Bottoms
can we rename the existing backup set? We have an extensive schedule and recreating it would take a long time.
Mayoff
You can rename scripts but not backup sets.
