nitch
I am installing Retrospect Server backup for the first time. I can do a backup fine but do not want to do incrementals. I would like to schedule to do a full backup of the entire system every weeknight and overwrite the tape. What is the procedure for doing this. I was looking at recycle backup but that look like it wipes out the catalog. Any help would be appreciated.
lv2ski
Recycle backup is your only option. It erases the media, and erases the catalog file and recreates a new catalog file and rebacks up everything. Complete backup all over again to the same media is what a recycle does. nitch
I am trying to understand this. If I create a script for M-F and select recycle backup and repeat each week is that correct. It also appears that a recycle backup tries to backup everything. Is there a way to go in and deselect files like the actual Exchange Information Store so I don't get errors on messages of incomplete backup. Thanks. lv2ski
Sure. You can setup a Selector (in Desktop edition or above) that excludes specific files that you indicate.
