Also, the new documentation doesn't seem to document the main new feature in Retrospect 10, Instant Scan.

 

It also has a lot of very dated screenshots, some showing the old EMC2 logo, some showing version numbers starting with 6 and 7. Wasn't EMC2 the second-last owner of Retrospect?

Specifically for Instant Scan, the goal is for it to be as transparent as possible while simply making the scan phase of backups faster. We have additional improvements and features planned towards that goal.

 

Improvements on the overall documentation are done in phases. The just completed phase focused on:

- bringing them online at http://retrospect.com/en/documentation

- integrating relevant parts from the addendum into the user's guide

- providing PDF and ePub (iBook) formats
