willjam
I get errors from my backups using the Western Digital Media Center with Retrospect 6.5 Express. Retrospect is bundled with the unit. It appears that the errors are attributed to my Norton Anti-virus. What do I need to do to correct this or should I be concerned. Here is the log that was generated from my latest backup: + Duplicate using WD Automatic Backup at 10/10/2004 1:00 AM To volume Backup of Drive_C © on WD MediaCtr (J:)... - 10/10/2004 1:00:07 AM: Copying Drive_C (C:) File "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Retrospect\operations_log.utx": appears incomplete File "C:\Documents and Settings\Bill\Local Settings\Temp\Perflib_Perfdata_c70.dat": can't read, error -1020 (sharing violation) File "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\CCPD-LC\symlcsys.dll": can't read, error -1020 (sharing violation) File "C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch\LOGON.SCR-24ADF392.pf": appears incomplete File "C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\EventCache\{288B91A2-CEC4-40CB-B6F6-9C1EC46039D2}.bin": can't read, error -1020 (sharing violation) File "C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\EventCache\{BA36CC07-C8E2-4F14-8715-04988D14AA08}.bin": can't read, error -1020 (sharing violation) File "C:\WINDOWS\Temp\hsperfdata_SYSTEM\1944": can't read, error -1020 (sharing violation) File "C:\WINDOWS\Temp\hsperfdata_SYSTEM\1956": can't read, error -1020 (sharing violation) 10/10/2004 1:41:52 AM: Comparing Backup of Drive_C © on WD MediaCtr (J:) File "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\systemprofile\ntuser.dat": different modify date/time (src: 1/4/2002 1:27:28 AM, dest: 10/10/2004 1:41:48 AM) File "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\systemprofile\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows\UsrClass.dat": different modify date/time (src: 1/4/2002 1:50:44 AM, dest: 10/10/2004 1:41:49 AM) File "C:\WINDOWS\Tasks\Symantec NetDetect.job": didn't compare at offset 116 in stream "Data" 10/10/2004 2:18:20 AM: 11 execution errors Completed: 22576 files, 8.8 GB Performance: 254.8 MB/minute (264.3 copy, 246.1 compare) Duration: 01:18:04 (00:07:48 idle/loading/preparing)
willjam
Probably posted too soon, after reading the various posts on this forum I think I understand why I have the 1020 errors. However, I noticed on some of the logs, that indicate that a 'snapshop' had been created. I do not see this entry in my log. Any thoughts? Bill J.
