mario1
My Backups are going fine, but when they are done, my system slows to a snail's pace. I can't even so a shutdown sometime becuase the system locks up. The software seems to be shutting down ok. The machine is fairly new (celeron 2400) and is running 98SE (just my personal preference - not an XP fan). I do daily scheduled backups (updated files only) and this problem has been going on for about 3 months. ANy ideas?
plb
Perhaps try a diagnostic approach: Before running a backup, use the task manager (I don't recall - might have a different name in Win98) to see what processes are running. Write them down. Do the same afterwards, see what's different. That might give a clue about what's happening.
