markfaul
I had previously used the trial version of Retrospect 5.6 to make a copy of my main disk with 14GB of files to a USB connected 40GB external disk. The storage disk indicated 17GB free space after the copy. After installing Retrospect 6.5, I made a backup of my main disc, which then indicated free storage of only 3GB. Why didn't the backup ignore the unmodified files since the last copy? Also, should I trash the 5.6 file?
markfaul
I discovered that the trial version 5.6 does not record the source file index; thus 6.5 had no reference to what was on the storage disk. I trashed all the files on the storage disk and successfully did a 6.5 backup from my source disk.
