IIS2429
Hello, I work for a machine shop and we usually run 3 shifts (all day, every day). Recently, Retrospect has been disrupting our network when attempting to back up the server. What happens is that some files are open and some files are being written to. The open files are no problem (we use incrementle daily, and a recycle weekly) but when backing up a file that is being written to, it causes problems. From then on we get two error messages per file which I have pasted below (one for finding the file, and another to create the back up of that file to tape). MapError: unknown Windows error 999 TPCFileLocGetInfo: UFindFirstFile failed, \\SERVER\USB1\IDM\METBASE\data\0063\raw\0000126560_0000012183.txt, winerr 999, error -1001 MapError: unknown Windows error 999 TPCFileBackupReadOpen: UCreateFile failed, \\SERVER\USB1\IDM\METBASE\data\0063\raw\0000126560_0000012183.txt, winerr 999, error -1001 File "\\SERVER\USB1\IDM\METBASE\data\0063\raw\0000126560_0000012183.txt": can't read, error -1001 (unknown Windows OS error) MapError: unknown Windows error 999 The network is still OK afterwards but our database paths get corrupted and the database needs to be rebooted to remap them. We have been using Retrospect for years and this hasn't ben an issue. Any help would be great.
