jfalek Posted April 4, 2004 Report Share Posted April 4, 2004 Hi, I run Retrospect on a Windows XP box and back up a number of laptop boxes running Windows XP over a wireless network. While there have been some problems with the wireless connnections going down, over the last year they have been pretty stable. Recently, I upgraded the server to 6.5.343 and have been having significant problems backing anyone up. Typically, the error message is as follows when I tried to backup a machine named "JIF": + Normal backup using JIF Backup at 4/4/2004 1:33 PM To Backup Set BackupSet2... 4/4/2004 1:33:57 PM: Connected to jif * Resolved container jif to 1 volumes: IBM_PRELOAD (C:) on jif - 4/4/2004 1:33:55 PM: Copying IBM_PRELOAD (C:) on jif Scanning incomplete, error -519 (network communication failed) I upgraded the clients to 6.5.136, but it did not change anything. Next week I hope to get a laptop user to lend me their machine to directly test on the LAN, but I am concerned that I am not geting any successful backups and that this started with the upgrade.
