teknomad
Hi: I’m a newbie with a Mac Powerbook G-3 running OS 9.0.4. Does Retrospect (4.3) support the new Maxtor 3000xt (160 GB) external fire wire (5400 RPM) drive? Can’t find that drive (or Maxtor) on the list anywhere. If not, then how about the LaCie external 120 GB firewire (7200RPM)? I could upgrade to 5.0 but will not got to OS X for a while.
AmyJ
Retrospect supports all hard drives that are supported by the Operating System. Under OS 9, this includes virtually all hard drives (including the drives you listed). Retrospect accesses hard drives directly through the operating system. If the drive is mounted on the desktop, Retrospect will be able to access it. If you are considering upgrading to OS X in the future, make sure you buy a hard drive that is OS X compatible.
