jefurse
We have an in-house ad agency and we back up nightly all of the production servers. We need to archive the information permanently because, it might be a year or two before the information is needed again. Does anyone have a good strategy to accomplish this? Right now, we are using Retrospect to backup nightly anything that has changed. We run a Mac Appleshare server with Retrospect 4.1 Thanks in advance. fender464
This all depends on what you're using to back up with. I imagine you're using some kind of tape drive with high capacity? If so, you could create a new storage set and do a weekly/monthly full backup. Take that tape somewhere off-site and keep the catalog file in a safe place (maybe a zip disk to go along with the archived tape). If you won't be accessing the data for a few years, I would recommend keeping it in a temperature controled place like a bank deposit box or something like that. Hope this helps.
