Yorgo
Hello forum, I am trying to find some information about making my SCSI LaCie CDRW 8424S compatible with Retro. Express 4.2 in order to archive some files on CD-Rs. To the best of my knowledge this device does not seem to be compatible with the software. I was hoping someone might be able to sugest a workaround for this problem. By the way I'm on a beige G3 and OS 9.2. Thanks for your help!! Yorgo. AmyJ
This drive will not work with Retrospect 4.2. It was not supported until the release of Retrospect 4.3. You will need to upgrade to 4.3 or 5.0 Retrospect in order to use this drive. For a complete list of supported drives check out the Hardware Compatibility Search Engine: www.dantz.com/hardware
Yorgo
Thanks for the response Amy! The strange thing is that the drive is not listed among the compatible drives sold by LaCie but among the compatible drives manufactured by Yamaha (the mechanism is by Yamaha, the name on the box is LaCie)... I am going to upgrade the software to the most current version, I just hope there are no gliches.
