kaisa
Hi, I have been using Retrospect for years but still am angry about some things: give an option to run verify of a media directly after it has been written to. So I minimize the use of a DJ (Disc Jockey) how often has to change media. So backup on 3 media (discs or tapes) would be 1 write - verifty 2 write - verifty 3 write - verifty instead of 1 2 3 1 2
jch
Here here! This is a great idea. I know I've read the official explanation about why it's done the way it currently is (to handle a file spanning the end of a media)... But, if you want to be *user-centric* this revised approach would make a lot of sense: Put in a tape back-up verify insert new tape back-up verify etc. Yes, it would involve re-jigging the logic of the program to be media-centric, rather than volume-centric. But, boy, would it make me recommend your product to a lot more people. Currently, it's just too clunky for multi-tape backups. Hope this helps, .../j
