digitanimation
Retrospect Express 5.0 on OSX does not recognize my DDS3 drive as a backup device. As you can see from the subject line, it is a Firewire device from APS. It uses an Oxford bridge for Firewire. It is NOT on the incompatible list. It does not work. It shows up under device status but not as a viable device. In OS 9.2 it also shows up under device status but under devices it says "(no driver)". Can anyone tell me what is wrong? twovoltz
There are two issues here: 1. Express doesn't support DDS-3 Tape Drives 2. Retrospect doesn't support the SDT-9000 Firewire drive with Express or any other version. Because something is not on the "unsupported" list does not automatically make it qualified. The "supported" drives will show up as qualified. That's the best place to look for qualified drives.
