Retrospect Launcher Service goes away

The Launcher Service quietly stops without any Event Log entries, causing scheduled backups to not run. Rebooting the machine will restart the service. It fails on an inconsistant basis with anywhere from 2-15 days between failures. It is the only application running on the machine at the time of the failure, other than AVG virus scan, and the rest of the network is virtually idle.

Are you sure that the RP6.5 Launcher service (retrorun.exe) actually stops? If you just Start (or Restart, or Stop then Start) the Launcher service, do things return to normal, at least for a while?

I've been dealing with an inability of the Launcher to reliably launch RP (see thread below, also "cured" by a reboot for a random number of days) but the Launcher service itself always seems to be present and running. I've tried Restart (or Stop & Start) of the Launcher service itself but that didn't help anything.
