drouk Posted August 13, 2003 Report Share Posted August 13, 2003 I'm using an ATL 4/52 tape library, and just added bar codes to all the tapes. Ever since doing so, retrospect seems to repeatedly be stuck on scanning the inventory. It doesn't move the tapes around, but just scans the bar codes. No jobs are even active and it still does so. Any ideas on how to stop this? Restarting retrospect doesn't help, nor does rebooting the library. This scanning seems to take priority over any normal tape move commands I put in, so my control is very limited. Retrospect hasn't performed any backups since doing so. I am not 100% certain this is the cause, but I found that there were two tapes with identical names in the library. Once I removed them the backup has worked correctly.
