ChrisYip Posted July 22, 2003 Report Share Posted July 22, 2003 Hi all I'm using the latest version of the Server 5.0 on an OS 9 box and while it will back up Windows and OS 9 clients without a problem, it stalls and locks up backing up OS X clients, even on OS X clients with the latest client version. I can back up the same OS X clients using the same version of the Server package on an OS X (10.2.6) machine... The clients are fine - the scanning process takes forever, but the crash only happens when it starts to cycle up the tape drives. If I do the same thing, same drives, same cards, on an OS X machine - there's no problem at all... I don't get it.... I end up having to have two separate Retrospect servers - one for my OS 9/Windows machines and one for my OS X clients... (BTW - I also have that problem where Retrospect locks up my OS X Server machine (where it co-resides) if it's looking for a tape. The only way to get my OS X Server to wake up is to restart it....)
