pigtailpat
I originally had Retrospect 5.5 desktop, then I got a maxtor drive (200 GB) that has the one button thing. I was told to install the software with the drive so I can take advantage of the 1 button thing. I did that. I now have 5.6 desktop installed. The 1 button thing works, but I have 2 drives on the computer system I want to back up, so I tried doing a "new" backup set. Retrospect 5.6 cannot find the maxtor drive - I keeping getting the error that there is no destination. Now under configure, the drive shows on the "environment" tab, but NOT on the "status" tab. The drive shows in windows etc. How can this be corrected? What's going on? Thanks. Pat
AmyJ
Please see the following tutorial on backing up to hard drive with Retrospect Express. Hard drives should not show up in the Device Status window - this is normal. The Device Status window is reserved for media devices such as ZIP, CD, DVD-RAM, etc., not hard drives.
