storrence
I have Retrospect Server running on a G4 tower and the client on a 12" powerbook. The powerbook is set to sleep after 15 minutes and our backup script is set to run at 2am. The powerbook does not wake up when it tries to connect to it and I get the usual error. Something like 'client not visible…'. Is this the normal behavior or is there some setting I missed that would make the powerbook wake up when the server tries to start the backup? Thank you. shadowspawn
This is normal behaviour with the current version. Retrospect does not wake up sleeping clients, and also can not shut down Mac OS X clients after the backup. (It is ok to set the hard drive and monitor to "sleep", as long as the computer is still "awake".)
storrence
Thanks for the tip. Funny to see AD instruemts here. I had a conversation recently with someone else at AD. His name I believe was Brian Zahn. I'm looking for an oscilloscope to use with my mac.
