need administrator permission to backup

A while ago after a reboot Multiserve 6.0 on Win2k sp3 Retrospect gave an error stating that it needed administrator permissions to backup. According to me it has those permissions. I called up Dantz and we tried some retrospect helper service configs. This didn't help. We even tried reformatting the entire server which didn't help either. Tried the 6.5 demo version on a different machine and got the same result. I am logging in as the domain admin. Even made a RDU user with backup admin privileges. Backup seems to be running OK though.

 

Are their any bright folks out there who can help me solve this riddle.

 

It would be much appreciated.
