hrtmath
We're running Retrospect 6.5 server for Windows that backs up all clients except for one Windows XP SP 1 fully-patched computer. I add the client for this computer to the client list, select the client and click on the Tools tab for the client, and get a "Client Connection Closing..." message. I then have to force quit Retrospect. Client 6.0 is installed on the Windows XP computer. The Windows XP computer functions fine in all other TCP/IP functions - email, Web browsing, etc. I've moved the Windows XP computer to a new location to try a different wire - same result. Internet firewall is not running. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the client. (By the way - where can I find a Windows 6.5 client installer?) When I try an immediate backup of the Windows XP computer, I get an error 517. Reboot the client and get the same thing. Is there a way to get a deeper look at that is going on with the client when the server tries to connect? Thanks.
AmyJ
Try a clean install of the client (uninstall/reboot/reinstall). Update/reinstall the NIC drivers Try a different NIC
