I have Retrospect set to put 4 or 5 different PCs' backups onto a single tape set using individual backup scripts (I want them to run at different frequencies etc) I have it set to alternate between two tape sets every week, so: week 1, Sunday - recycle Tape set A, week 1, Monday-Friday - normal Tape set A week 2, Sunday - recycle Tape set B week 2, Monday-Friday - normal Tape set B This means that, in theory, I have always the most recent 7 days' backups available. Then I thought - what happens on Sunday... - PC1 - recycle Tape set A - PC2 - recycle Tape set A ... So, I guess that what happens is that at the end of the backup cycle on Sunday, Tape set A (or only contains the backup data for the last PC to get backed up (all the previous backups on that day being promptly erased) - is that correct? If so, is there any simple way of doing what I want, or do I have to just try to schedule things so that PC1 always gets backed up first, and that's the only one which does a recycle backup? AmyJ Posted June 13, 2003 Report Share Posted June 13, 2003 If you are using different scripts for each source, then yes, only the first script to run should recycle the backup set on Sunday. Otherwise, each script will recycle the set - erasing the prior backup. All other Sunday scripts should use Normal backups. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
