pscs Posted June 12, 2003 Report Share Posted June 12, 2003 I've got my backups set to verify after use - unfortunately, I get so many errors from this verification that it's almost useless. The PCs being backed up are always working (eg web/mail servers etc), so, by the time the verification happens quite a few files will have, undoubtedly, changed, been deleted etc. Is there any way to make Retrospect verification compare the backup to the state AT THE TIME of the backup. So, whilst Retrospect is backing up, it takes an MD5 (or whatever) digest of each file and remembers them somehow, then during verification it compares the backed up file to that MD5. This would be quicker for network backups as well as being more useful when backing up constantly changing PCs (I guess a similar thing MAY apply to the snapshot state, but I'm not sure) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
