charliemow Posted June 6, 2003 Report Share Posted June 6, 2003 I am tying to use Retrospect Express with a Maxtor Personal Storage 5000DV external hard drive. I am running Windows XP on an new IBM machine (1.9 Mhz, 512 RAM…). The problem is that Retrospect Express (RE) does not recognise the device is present. The device is connected correctly and is visible in Windows Explorer before I launch RE. Even when it says no backup devices are found I can still see and use the device in Windows Explorer.
