emulator
Hi List... Is it possible for Retrospect to run on OS X Server and perform automated backups when the server is in "log out" status? By this, I mean does the Finder have to be running on the server in order for Retrospect to run automated? For security reasons, we make it a practise to log out of the server locally so that anyone wandering by cannot just start messing with things. We are running OS X Server 10.2.6 with the tape backup drive connected directly to the server via SCSI. Thanks! Marc
CallMeDave
Is it possible for Retrospect to run on OS X Server and perform automated backups when the server is in "log out" status? Yes. By this, I mean does the Finder have to be running on the server in order for Retrospect to run automated? No. But note that if you log into the Aqua Finder while Retrospect is running, logging out again will quit Retrospect. Apparently there is no way to log out without quitting all running apps (although Panther (10.3) is rumored to have capabilities in exactly this area that might make things better).
