tvalleau Posted April 2, 2002 Report Share Posted April 2, 2002 Hi Running desktop 5 on 9.2.2 (no OSX) with 5 clients. The client scan just as quickly, if not faster, than they did under 4.3. (By scan, I mean the initial scanning of the drive, for the first read of the files.) However, the host computer (which is a DP800 with 1.5 gigs of RAM) scans at about 1/10th the rate of 4.3 and/or the 5.0 clients. Completely counter-intuitive... not to mention a serious pain, since the main computer has over 165,000 files on it, and now takes well over an hour to scan (whereas under 4.3 it took about 10 minutes.) Again: the clients all scan at "normal" speed. It's just the host computer that is creeping along. There is NO OS X on the host computer, either. suggestions?
