rossmpersonal
Does Dantz have any plans to support CD-RW media with HLDS GCC-4120B (Apple version) when using Retrospect Express for Macintosh? It beehove's Dantz to do so because the HLDS GCC-4120B (Apple version) is used in eMacs, which are extremely popular as family machines, and Retrospect Express is ideal for families. Retrospect Express also come bundled with many products that are ideal for families.
AmyJ
The issue with writing to CD-RW media is not with the software, but with the drive. Apple has been informed. The drive is fully supported with CD-R media. Unlike other burning programs, Retrospect can 'pick up where it left off' on CD-R media. If a session does not fill a CD, Retrospect will continue to use that CD in the next and subsequent sessions until the disk is full.
rossmpersonal
Has Apple responded? Are there any workarounds? Is there the same problem with OS X? Are there any knowledgebase articles about this problem?
AmyJ
There are no workarounds at this time. The Dantz Hardware Search Engine page for this drive lists that CD-RW media is not supported. http://www.dantz.com/index.php3?SCREEN=compatibility_list_detail&id=8560 CD-R FAQ http://www.dantz.com/index.php3?SCREEN=kbase&ACTION=KBASE&id=27105
