mmoncino
I have a new PC--- Dell dimension, 8250 with a NEC DVD+RW. I back up my sytem (multiple partitions) to a hard drive partition and to rotating discs. I used to use CDR-which worked well. Now with the new PC, I want to do the same thing. I "upgraded" to retrospect 5.6 when I got the new PC about a month ago. Backing up to the hard drive paritition works fine. Backing up specific folders of EACH of the 2 drives to the DVD+RW (as a test) works fine. **BUT backing up the full 2 Partitions to the DVD (about 5 GB of files) -- does not.*** 1) Apparently one has to format the DVD disks??? This is different than the CDR disks which were to be used unformated --- why??? 2) the backup to the dvd works for about the first 1.5-1.9 GB and then a write error message comes up. Thoughts suggestions?? mark
AmyJ
While in Retrospect, go to Configure > Devices > Environment and list Vendor, Product and Version for your drive.
