Revert Initial Erase?

Hello,

 

I have the unfortunate problem of an entire disk worth of data being unaccessible. I'm more of a Windows person than a Mac, so I'm not to familiar with the inner working of the Mac.

 

Someone had named their extra drive "Storage Set A" which I thought was their backup media. As Retrospect started, it asked if I wanted to erase the media I wanted to copy to.

I said "Yes."

 

Is there a way to backout this erase?

No files were actually copied to the disk and the disk is reporting 0K being used. If I use a program like ProSoft DataRescue, I can see all the files on the disk that was erased.

 

I suspect Macs have a something similar to a FAT table that is initialized for a "Quick Erase" of the disk? Is there a quick fix for this, or do I need to rescue all the data and then copy it back to the disk?
