pcarlson
I am trying to backup a couple of volumes on a local harddrive. The first volume has about 30,000 files with various sizes. This gets backed up around 150MB/min. The second volume has 350,000 files with many less than 1K files with average size of about 2K. This gets backedup around 60MB/min. I am using a VXA-1 with firewire. I unchecked compression. The two volumes are local to the backup machine. Is there any way to speed up the backup of the many small files? Any suggestions on how to make it faster other than to first archive them in a single file? Thanks for any suggestions.
