jfroberts
I need some help desperately. My hard disk crashed, but fortunately I had made a backup just the day before. Unfortunately, when I went to restore it, I selected the backup data set and got a message that there wasn't any "snapshots" to choose from. It would not let me continue without specifying a snapshot. The job appeared to complete normally. Elsewhere in the literature, it says that snapshots are part of the backup data set. The backup data set is there. ? ? ? Does anybody know of a way to recreate the snapshot from the data set? Thanks for any help or thoughts you can offer. AmyJ
What did you backup to? If you backed up to a media drive (such as CD-R, Tape, Removable Disk, etc.) you can rebuild the catalog through Tools > Repair > Recreate from.... If you backed up to a hard drive, you can attempt to repair the file by going to Tools > Repair > Repair file backup set.
